Scott Branam Injured in Fatal Crash on Highway 47 [Lincoln County, MO]

Lincoln County, MO (May 25, 2025) — 38-year-old Scott Branam suffered injuries, and 22-year-old Mason Hammett lost his life after a head-on collision early Sunday morning in Lincoln County, Missouri.

According to authorities, the crash happened shortly before 5 a.m. on Missouri Highway 47 near Two Pine Court outside Troy. Investigators said Hammett of Winfield was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado.

Hammett died at the scene. Officials reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Silverado driver, identified as Branam of Foley, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Emergency crews closed Highway 47 for several hours while they investigated and cleared the wreckage.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
