Houston, TX (July 11, 2025) – An HPD officer, Sean Ratcliff, 40, was arrested in a DUI crash on Crosstimbers Street Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers said the DUI crash involving a METRO bus happened around 2:45 p.m. at Interstate 45.
According to the authorities, two people were transported and seven passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident report stated that the bus was rear-ended at a stop on Crosstimbers Street and the vehicle involved sustained moderate damage. The bus was taken to a maintenance facility with rear-end damage.
Sean Ratcliff was charged with driving while intoxicated and was released on a personal bond.
Records show it’s Ratcliff’s second DWI arrest. His first DWI charge in May of 2023 was dismissed after he completed a pretrial diversion program.
Meanwhile, HPD confirmed Ratcliff has been relieved of duty pending an internal affairs investigation. Similarly, the authorities also confirmed Ratcliff was not on duty when the collision occured.
