One Killed in Suspected DUI Crash During Monterey Car Week
Monterey, CA (August 19, 2026) — 20-year-old Sebastian Feliciano of Dublin faces a potential vehicular manslaughter charge after a crash killed one passenger during Monterey Car Week on Sunday.
Monterey police said a silver BMW convertible was traveling from Carmel toward Monterey shortly after 5 p.m. when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Three passengers were inside the vehicle, and one died in the collision.
Police identified the driver as Feliciano. Investigators determined that he showed signs of impairment and recorded a preliminary blood alcohol level above 0.13. Feliciano and the other passengers suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Feliciano remained hospitalized as investigators continued their investigation and prepared possible gross vehicular manslaughter charges.
Our deepest condolences go to the victim’s family, friends, and loved ones following this tragic loss. We hope they find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
When a Fatal Accident Changes Life Forever
Losing a loved one in a sudden crash is devastating. The grief can feel overwhelming, and for many families, that emotional pain is compounded by unexpected financial pressures—medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income or support your loved one once provided.
In moments like these, it’s important to know that you are not alone. A wrongful death claim can help families find a sense of justice and financial stability after an unimaginable loss. While no legal action can ever replace the person you’ve lost, it can provide accountability and help protect your family’s future.
Wrongful death claims can help families recover compensation for:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Medical costs related to final care
- Lost income and future financial support
- Loss of companionship and emotional suffering
Beyond financial relief, pursuing a claim is often about accountability. Whether a crash was caused by distracted driving, speeding, or another form of negligence, holding the responsible party accountable can help bring closure and reduce the risk of similar tragedies happening to others.
