18-Year-Old Woman Killed in Grand Junction Hit-and-Run

Grand Junction, CO (September 22, 2026) — Serenity Murphy, 18, of Grand Junction, died after a suspected hit-and-run crash just after midnight Monday near D Road, west of Westland Avenue, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Authorities found Murphy unresponsive near a scooter she appeared to have been riding. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office identified Murphy and confirmed that she was not wearing a helmet.

Grand Junction police continue to investigate the crash and work to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
