Sergio Maya Killed in Frightening Crash on Pacific Coast Highway [Harbor City, CA]

Harbor City, CA (September 27, 2025) — Authorities identified the motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday afternoon as 35-year-old Sergio Maya.

According to authorities, the collision happened around 12:55 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Western Avenue.

Police said a silver van traveling westbound turned left in front of Maya’s eastbound motorcycle, causing him to lose control. An older-model pickup truck heading west then struck him.

Both drivers left the scene without stopping. Despite life-saving efforts by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, Maya was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the LAPD’s South Traffic Division.
