3 People Hurt in Deadly 2-Vehicle Collision on US Highway 79
Leon County, TX (December 1, 2023) On Monday morning, 25-year-old Seth Brown of Argillite, KY, and 24-year-old Lane Wireman of Greenup, KY, were both killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 79.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly collision happened around 6:06 a.m. at the intersection of northbound US Highway 79 and FM 39.
Reports say that Brown and Wireman were passengers in a van that collided with a southbound Peterbilt. Officials say that the driver of the van failed to yield at a stop intersection and turned left onto northbound US 79, causing a collision with the semi-truck.
Authorities say that the driver of the van and 2 other passengers suffered serious injuries, and were taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, Brown and Wireman were declared dead at the scene.
DPS is investigating the deadly 2-vehicle collision.
