Police Investigate Rollover Crash on Interstate 70 in Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, CO (May 8, 2026)— Several people suffered injuries Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Grand Junction.

The collision happened around 1:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70 near the 26 1/2 Road overpass, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

Investigators said the crash caused one vehicle to roll onto its roof. The second vehicle came to rest in the center median.

Emergency responders transported both drivers and multiple passengers to the hospital. Officials have not yet confirmed the extent of their injuries.

Police said the crash also sparked a small roadside fire. A tow truck driver extinguished the fire before it could spread further. Debris from the collision also struck and damaged an unrelated vehicle traveling in the eastbound lanes.

The Grand Junction Fire Department assisted at the scene.
