Vehicle Collisions Can Be Prevented
Traffic Lanes provide an open road, but safety is key. Wear a DOT-approved helmet and protective gear every time you ride to prevent injuries from crashes. Keep visible — use headlights, bright-colored clothing and try not to ride in blind spots. Observe all the rules of the road and keep your speed in check, and never ride while impaired. Keep your wits about you and never assume anyone else sees you.
The choices you make can save your life.
Sweet Lawyers reminds all drivers to be extra vigilant and share the road responsibly with motorcyclists. Motorcyclists are less visible than other vehicles; always check your blind spots and allow ample space. For motorcyclists, wear appropriate gear, ride defensively, and obey all traffic laws. Let’s work together to prevent accidents and ensure everyone’s safety on our roads.
What To Do Following a Traffic Collision
The first thing you should do when a motorcycle crash occurs is to ensure you’re not in harm’s way. Assess your injuries and any victims’ injuries and dial 911 as soon as possible. Do not move anyone who is seriously injured unless they are in danger, such as from fire or traffic. If it can be done safely, move vehicles out of the road, turn off engines to avoid further accidents. After calling for assistance, photograph the are, your injuries and setup for any damaged parts or equipment.
After you have been seen by medical professionals, you will want to contact a personal injury lawyer if you sustained injuries. Motorcycle crashes frequently result in expensive medical bills, lost wages and pain long into the future. A personal injury attorney can explain your rights, negotiate with insurance companies, and work to secure fair compensation for you.
Don’t forget to obtain contact and insurance information from witnesses. If you can provide this to your lawyer, it will be helpful evidence for the trial. A lawyer can help make recovery easier by acting quickly and supporting clients from the outset.
