Several Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on 20th Street [Sacramento, CA]

Sacramento, CA (February 23, 2026) – People were injured in a hit-and-run crash on 20th Street early Sunday morning.

It was past 1:30 a.m. when the collision happened near P Street.

Officers said a sedan collided with a van carrying seven people. One of the passengers in the van was thrown from the vehicle upon impact.

Two of the van passengers sustained critical injuries.

The sedan’s driver fled the scene on foot just before the authorities arrived. 

 Authorities are asking anyone with details to contact Sacramento PD.

Everyone on the road should be increasingly vigilant and watch out for each other. Drivers have to make sure to slow down in crowded areas, watch for people crossing and not get distracted, like by texting.

Pedestrians should cross only where they are supposed to, heed the traffic lights and attempt to establish eye contact with drivers before they step off the curb.
