Flagstaff, AZ (September 18, 2026) – 43-year-old Shane Ray Benally of Flagstaff was killed in a U.S. 89 hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning.

Troopers responded past 1 a.m. to reports of a body in the roadway, in the area of Campbell Avenue.

When they arrived, police located Benally in the southbound freeway and declared him dead.
