Shane Stean Mozingo Killed in Multi-Car Crash on FM 455

Injury Reported in Deadly Three-Vehicle Crash Near Pilot Point

Pilot Point, TX (May 25, 2025) — A driver was hurt, and 34-year-old Shane Stean Mozingo lost his life Saturday morning following a three-vehicle collision in Denton County near Pilot Point.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 11:45 a.m. on FM 455 near Hub Clark Road. Investigators said Mozingo of Sanger was riding eastbound at a high speed when he approached another vehicle traveling in the same direction.

Authorities reported that Mozingo attempted to brake to avoid a crash but lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down on the roadway. The motorcycle slid into the westbound lane and struck a pickup truck before veering back into the eastbound lane, where it collided with another vehicle.

Mozingo died at the scene.

The pickup truck driver was not injured, while the driver of the other eastbound vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
