Injury Reported in Fatal Las Cruces Rollover Crash

Las Cruces, NM (February 21, 2025) – 24-year-old Sheila Nava of Las Cruces was killed while another driver was hurt in a tragic rollover crash on Griggs Avenue.

According to Las Cruces police, the fatal collision happened Thursday, February 13 at the intersection with Hermosa Street.

Reports say that police identified the woman who lost her life in the rollover crash last week.

Authorities confirmed that Nava died in the accident.

According to investigators, Nava was driving south on Hermosa Street in an SUV when a westbound vehicle on Griggs Avenue collided with her car.

Police believe she failed to stop at a stop sign before the crash.

Investigators also discovered that Nava was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which led to her being ejected as the SUV rolled over. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
