Shocking 2-Car Crash on Avenue 21 Claims a Life

Teen Killed, Woman Hurt in Madera County Two-Vehicle Collision

Madera County, CA (May 24, 2025) — A deadly two-vehicle crash on Avenue 21 in Madera County claimed the life of an 18-year-old man and left a woman seriously injured Thursday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Avenue 21 and Road 28 1/2. Investigators said a Jeep traveling westbound on Avenue 21 entered the intersection as a white Ford Escape headed southbound on Road 28 1/2 approached the area.

CHP reported that the Ford Escape driver failed to stop at a stop sign before crashing into the Jeep. The impact sent the Ford Escape off the roadway and into a tree. The young driver was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene.

Emergency crews transported the woman driving the Jeep to a hospital with moderate to major injuries.

Authorities said alcohol does not appear to have contributed to the crash, but the investigation remains ongoing. CHP continues to ask witnesses to come forward with information.
