Santa Ana, CA (August 3, 2025) – A car slammed into a tree and a cinder block wall late Thursday night in a shocking Crash near Bear Street that killed a 42-year-old male passenger and injuring the driver.

According to local authorities, the crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. near Segerstrom Avenue and Bear Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle pinned against a wall with both occupants trapped inside.

Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority joined police in rescuing the two victims. Medics transported them to a nearby hospital, where doctors later pronounced the passenger—reportedly a Fountain Valley resident—dead. His identity has not yet been released, pending family notification. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and cooperated with police during the investigation.

Initial findings suggest the vehicle was speeding westbound on Segerstrom Avenue before veering off the road, hitting a tree, and crashing into the wall. Authorities said impairment did not appear to play a role in the crash.
