Pedestrian Dies After Tow Truck Collision in Central Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ (July 11, 2026) — Early Friday morning, a man died after a tow truck struck him in a shocking pedestrian crash on 7th Street in central Phoenix, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of 7th Street and Thomas Road around 3:45 a.m. following reports of a pedestrian collision. Responders found the man with life-threatening injuries and transported him to a hospital, where he later died.
According to Phoenix police, investigators believe the man stepped into the curb lane and was moving backward when the tow truck hit him.
The tow truck driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity as the investigation continues.
