Shocking Traffic Accident on I-70 Injures 2 [St. Louis County, MO]

St. Louis County, MO (April 25, 2025) On Thursday morning, a frightening traffic accident on I-70 left a driver and a passenger injured.

According to authorities, the shocking incident happened on westbound Interstate 70 near McDonnell Boulevard in North St. Louis County.

Reports say that a driver lost control of a vehicle, swerved into another car, and crashed into the rear of a Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) contractor truck. The vehicle struck a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) while MoDOT contractors were repairing the median wall.

Emergency responders transported the driver and a passenger from the at-fault vehicle to the hospital with injuries. No MoDOT workers were hurt in the incident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and police temporarily blocked the two left lanes during the investigation.

The crash occurred during National Work Zone Awareness Week, reinforcing the critical importance of driving safely near road crews.
