Shocking Traffic Collision on I-70 Led to Injuries [Montgomery County, MO]

Montgomery County, MO (July 30, 2025) On Tuesday morning, a 2 tractor-trailer traffic collision on I-70 left 2 motorist hurt.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the frightening crash happened around 10:19 a.m. and has shut down westbound lanes of Interstate 70 for three hours

Report say that the the collision happened at the 166-mile marker. A 72-year-old man driving a 2014 Peterbilt 389 rear-ended a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia while attempting to overtake it. The Freightliner was driven by a 48-year-old man.

Emergency responders transported the 72-year-old driver to University Hospital with serious injuries. The 48-year-old driver also went to the same hospital with minor injuries. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a seatbelt, while the other driver’s seatbelt status remains unknown.

The crash closed both westbound lanes of I-70 until approximately 1:40 p.m. as crews cleared the scene.
