Commerce, CA (February 25, 2025) – A shocking traffic crash on Bell Gardens after a high-speed police chase late Saturday night led to fatality.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 11 p.m. in Commerce.

Reports say that the high-speed police chase turned deadly, when a fleeing driver crashed into a bus stop, killing one person and injuring several others.

The pursuit started when a red sedan’s driver refused to stop at an intersection.

Officers ended the chase moments later as the driver sped through red lights at over 100 mph. Shortly after, the suspect crashed into a vehicle stopped at a red light before slamming into a bus stop.

A person, believed to be homeless and sleeping on the bench, lost their life in the crash. Another victim, who was crossing the street at the time, suffered severe injuries, leading to leg amputations early Sunday morning.

Authorities have arrested the driver of the red sedan.
