Silva Soto Hurt In Niles Street Hit-and-Run Crash [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (September 16, 2026) — 46-year-old Silva Soto suffered severe injuries after a pickup truck struck her and fled the scene late Friday night in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. on September 11, 2026, near the 6400 block of Niles Street.

Investigators determined that an unidentified pickup truck, believed to be an early- or late-1990s model, hit the woman before the driver left the area.

According to a fundraising campaign, Soto was working at her elote cart when the crash occurred. Paramedics transported her to Kern Medical for treatment of severe injuries.

CHP continues to investigate the hit-and-run and had not identified the driver as of Monday morning.
