RIVERSIDE, CA (May 11, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a woman died in a devastating single-vehicle accident on 215 Freeway and 60 Freeway.

The incident happened at 2:10 p.m. on 215 Freeway and 60 Freeway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A SigAlert was issued after a crash shut down the southbound lanes of the 215 freeway at the interchange.

According to the California Highway Patrol, witnesses told officers the vehicle flew over the center divider and overturned several times.

Authorities said a woman died in the crash, though it was not immediately known whether she was the driver or a passenger, or if she had been wearing a seatbelt.

Investigators also said it remains unclear whether speed or intoxicants were factors. CHP has not confirmed whether any other people were injured.
