Police Investigate Single-Vehicle Crash on County Road 6120 in Phelps County

Phelps County, MO (July 9, 2026) – A three-year-old girl and a 33-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 6120 on Thursday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision happened at approximately 7:10 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 6120 and County Road 6110.

According to the crash report, a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Emergency responders transported both occupants by ambulance to a hospital for treatment. 

Authorities identified them as residents of Newburg but did not release additional information about their conditions.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. 

Investigators also noted that the three-year-old passenger was not properly secured in a child safety seat.

Authorities have not released further details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. 

The crash remains under investigation.
