Solo-Car Crash on Highway 118 Claims a Life [Camarillo, CA]

Camarillo, CA (July 27, 2025) – A deadly solo-car crash on Highway 118 near Somis claimed one life and left another person with minor injuries early Friday morning.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the crash happened around 4 a.m. near Price Road.

Reports say that a vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a power pole, and landed in a ditch. One occupant died at the scene, while emergency responders transported another person to the hospital with minor injuries.

California Highway Patrol temporarily shut down Highway 118 between Price Road and Aggen Road following the crash. Authorities have not yet released further information about the victim or the cause of the crash.
