Solo-Car Crash on MO-5 Injures 2 People [Camden County, MO]

Two Hospitalized After Pickup Truck Crash Along MO-5 in Camden County

Camden County, MO (May 24, 2025) — On Thursday evening, 2 people suffered injuries following a single-vehicle crash on MO-5 near the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Investigators said a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 was heading north on MO-5 south of Sellers Road at about 6:14 p.m. when the truck veered off the right side of the highway and hit a sign before overturning.

The driver then lost further control as the pickup crossed the center of the roadway, struck another sign, and traveled off the left side of the road down an embankment before coming to a stop.

Authorities reported that the 28-year-old driver from Butler sustained moderate injuries, while a 26-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries. Emergency crews transported both occupants to Lake Regional Hospital.

Troopers also noted that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Do The Right Thing. Stay. Help. Take Responsibility.

A hit-and-run is not just a crime, but a devastating act of cowardice leaving victims injured, scared, and sometimes fighting for their lives. If you’re involved in a traffic accident, stop immediately. Call 911. Help those who are hurt.

Remember that fleeing the scene only worsens the situation and carries serious legal consequences, including felony charges. Victims deserve accountability and justice.

Single-vehicle crashes can quickly become life-threatening, especially when seatbelts are not used. Drivers and passengers should always buckle up and remain alert behind the wheel to help reduce the risk of serious injuries in rollover accidents.

A Personal Injury Claim Could Help

A personal injury case is critical after a car accident, especially when there is an injured party caused by another driver’s carelessness. Automobile accidents can lead to painful physical injuries, emotional distress and financial ruin. Medical expenses, lost income, and expenses for long term recovery don’t take long to add up. One option for reaching a fair resolution to these damages is a personal injury lawsuit.

Filing a court action holds the wrongdoer accountable. It also forces insurance providers to offer a reasonable settlement, rather than a low-ball offer that may not be enough to cover all of your losses. In too many instances, the insurers who shouldn’t be in the business of trying to maximize their profits often look for ways to minimize their payouts. And your rights will be protected with the personal injury claim throughout this process.

Also, in a personal injury lawsuit, you may be able to recover noneconomic damages such as pain and suffering or loss of enjoyment of life. It’s often no less important than your medical bills. In suing, you also encourage safer driving by reinforcing the accountability of reckless or negligent drivers.

If you do retain an experienced personal injury lawyer, the case is likely to proceed much more smoothly and not only will you be led through the legal process, you will likely have a better chance of a positive outcome as well.
