Three Teens Seriously Injured in Fatal Eastland County Rollover Crash

Eastland County, TX (June 26, 2025) — On Thursday, a single-vehicle rollover crash on State Highway 6 in Eastland County claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy and seriously injured three other teenagers.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 2:20 a.m. when a 19-year-old driver, identified as Maddox Gilliam of Cisco, was traveling at an unsafe speed. Investigators said he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the SUV to leave the roadway and overturn.

A 15-year-old passenger from Eastland died at the scene. Gilliam suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Fort Worth hospital. Two other passengers, ages 16 and 14, both from Cisco, also sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Investigators reported that at least three of the vehicle’s occupants, including the driver and the teen who died, were not wearing seatbelts. Weather and road conditions were clear at the time of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said criminal charges may be considered upon its completion.
