Minor Killed, Three Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Near Colfax

Colfax, CA (October 03, 2025) — A tragic crash on Interstate 80 near Colfax left one minor dead and three others with major injuries on Wednesday afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol reported that a single vehicle spun out on westbound I-80, just west of Highway 174, around 12:09 p.m. The cause of the spinout remains under investigation.

The minor passenger died at the scene. The three other occupants sustained serious injuries but are expected to survive.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
