Somerset ISD Bus Aid Injured in Highway 16 Collision [Somerset, TX]

Somerset, TX (December 6, 2025) – A bus aide from Somerset ISD was injured in a Highway 16 collision Thursday morning.

The traffic accident happened around 5:45 a.m. on Encino Drive.

Troopers said a vehicle pulled out in front of the school bus.

The bus driver swerved to avoid the car, but the school rolled over. The bus driver and the aide, along with three children, were riding the bus at the time of the crash.

Immediately, the bus aide was taken to a hospital and is expected to be okay. 

No one else sustained injuries and the children were released to their parents.
