Southbound Driver Dead in Vehicle Crash on Yakima Avenue [Tacoma, WA]

Tacoma, WA (March 7, 2026) – A driver was fatally injured following a vehicle crash on Yakima Avenue Thursday afternoon.

The deadly vehicle crash happened past 4 p.m. at the 2000 block area.

According to the authorities, a southbound and a northbound vehicle crashed after one of them crossed the center line. 

The southbound driver, an adult woman, and a dog in her vehicle, were killed at the scene

Moreover, rescuers rushed the northbound driver, also an adult woman, to an area hospital, but she later died. 

A passenger in the northbound vehicle was transported non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers are investigating who among the two drivers crossed into oncoming traffic.
