FERNDALE, WA (June 23, 2026) – Sunday morning, a startling 2-vehicle crash on 900 W Laurel Road led to multiple injuries.

The incident involving a truck and sedan happened at around 8:50 a.mm. on 900 W Laurel Road.

Initial reports indicated multiple people were injured in the crash, including at least one with serious injuries. Airlift Northwest responded and used a nearby field as a landing zone for transport.

Law enforcement closed the road between Northwest Drive and Aldrich Road while emergency crews worked the scene.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Assistant Chief Ben Russell said there were two critical patients and two others who were treated and released at the scene. One critical patient was airlifted, while the other was transported by medic unit to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
