Driver Hospitalized after Startling 2-Vehicle Crash on Broad Street and Sweeney Lane [San Luis Obispo, CA]

Injuries Reported in San Luis Obispo Auto Accident on Broad Street and Sweeney Lane

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (May 6, 2026) – Monday morning, a startling 2-vehicle crash on Broad Street and Sweeney Lane sent a driver to the hospital.

The incident happened at around 8:06 a.m. on Broad Street and Sweeney Lane.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department said a BMW sedan traveling north on Broad Street turned left onto Sweeney Lane and collided with a southbound Subaru Outback.

The impact caused the Subaru to flip onto its roof. The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, while the BMW driver was not hurt.

Police said the Subaru sustained major damage and the BMW had minor damage. DUI is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
