2 People Hurt in Washington Auto Accident on Missouri Highway 21 near Shoal Road

WASHINGTON, MO (May 7, 2026) – Monday afternoon, a startling 2-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 21 near Shoal Road injured two people.

The incident happened at around 5:55 p.m. on Missouri Highway 21 near Shoal Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a southbound vehicle struck a northbound vehicle that was making a left turn. Then, the force of the crash pushed the southbound vehicle off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Moreover, responders transported both drivers, the 74-year-old Potosi man driving the northbound vehicle and the 57-year-old Potosi man driving the southbound vehicle, to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Furthermore, officers said that the vehicles involved were identified as a 2003 Ford Focus and a 2006 Ford Fusion.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the MSHP continued investigating the crash.
