2 People Hurt in Poway Traffic Accident on State Route 67 and Ellie Lane

POWAY, CA (January 5, 2026) – Friday morning, a startling two-vehicle crash on State Route 67 and Ellie Lane injured two people.

The incident happened at around 5:30 a.m. on State Route 67 and Ellie Lane.

According to the Poway Sheriff’s Station, a southbound GMC Hummer lost control, crossed the center median into the oncoming traffic and collided with a fuel tanker truck.

Moreover, responders transported the driver of the Hummer to a hospital with head injuries. Also, the driver of the fuel tanker complained of pain but did not require medical treatment.

Furthermore, the County Hazardous Materials teams responded to the scene because of a minor fuel leak caused by the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
