5 People Hospitalized in San Bernardino County Boat Accident on Colorado River near Blankenship Bend
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (May 27, 2025) – Saturday afternoon, a startling boat crash on Colorado River near Blankenship Bend injured five people.
The incident happened at around 5:07 p.m. on the Colorado River near Blankenship Bend.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a boat traveling at a high rate of speed made a turning movement and the port sponson caught a chine. Then, the boat flipped over.
Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the boat and a female passenger, both with major injuries, to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and University Medical Center respectively, for treatment. Then, paramedics transported three more passengers of the boat to Havasu Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
