MARIPOSA COUNTY, CA (February 8, 2026) – Wednesday afternoon, a woman sustained injuries in a startling head-on crash on Highway 49 and Wass Road.

The incident happened at about 3:00 p.m. on Highway 49, just east of Wass Road.

The condition of the other driver and passengers has not been released. CHP said the woman was airlifted to CRMC with major injuries.
