Injuries Reported in San Diego Auto Accident on State Route. 94 near Little Tecate Road

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 25, 2026) – Monday afternoon, a person sustained injuries in a startling head-on crash on State Route 94 near Little Tecate Road.

The incident happened just after 3:00 p.m. on State Route 94 near Little Tecate Road.

Authorities said both vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed when they collided head-on.

One driver suffered minor injuries and was expected to be treated at the scene. The other driver had to be rescued from the vehicle and was expected to be airlifted to a hospital.

Emergency crews remained at the scene for several hours.

Caltrans San Diego posted on social media around 3:56 p.m. that SR-94 at Little Tecate Road was closed in both directions because of the crash. All lanes reopened several hours later.

According to Cal Fire, drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors.

Officials have not released an update on the drivers’ conditions.
