4 People Hospitalized in Independence Auto Accident on US 24 Highway

INDEPENDENCE, MO (May 26, 2025) – Sunday morning, a startling head-on crash on US 24 Highway injured four people.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 11:09 a.m. on westbound US 24 Highway.

According to the Independence Police Department, an eastbound 2015 Ford Fusion veered into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2007 GMC Sierra.

Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the Ford with serious injuries and three occupants of the GMC to a hospital for treatment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified. 

Due to limited information, the IPD continued investigating the crash.
