2 Drivers Hospitalized after Startling Head-On Crash on Vineyard Avenue near Perello Ranch Road [Ventura County, CA]

Injuries Reported in Ventura County Auto Accident on Vineyard Avenue near Perello Ranch Road

VENTURA COUNTY, CA (June 3, 2026) – Monday morning, a startling head-on crash on Vineyard Avenue near Perello Ranch Road sent 2 drivers to the hospital.

The incident happened on SR-232, also known as Vineyard Avenue, just east of Perello Ranch Road. 

Investigators said a gray Tesla sedan driven by a 32-year-old was traveling westbound when it veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a white Toyota SUV.

The impact pushed the Toyota into the eastbound lanes, while the Tesla came to rest in the westbound lanes.

According to the California Highway Patrol, investigators have not yet determined why the Tesla crossed into opposing traffic. Authorities said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision.

Firefighters extricated both drivers from their vehicles, and paramedics transported them to a local hospital with major injuries.
