65-Year-Old Man Injured in Startling Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 70 [Kansas City, MO]

Injuries Reported in Kansas City Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 70

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 13, 2026) – Sunday morning, a 65-year-old man sustained injuries in a startling multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70.

The incident happened at around 3:10 a.m. on Interstate 70.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old man was driving a 2006 Toyota Tundra eastbound on I-70 in Blue Springs when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the right side of the highway, struck a guardrail, and overturned.

The overturned truck was then hit by a 2022 Ford Edge driven by a 32-year-old man, causing the Tundra to spin. It was subsequently struck again by a 2006 Saturn.

Authorities said the Tundra driver and the Ford Edge driver were not injured. A 29-year-old passenger in the Ford Edge sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The 65-year-old driver of the Saturn suffered serious injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center. A 12-year-old passenger in the Saturn was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
