PHOENIX, AZ (December 14, 2025) – Saturday morning, a startling pedestrian crash near 44th Street and Camelback Road injured a police officer.

The incident happened at about 8:45 a.m. near 44th Street and Camelback Road.

A Scottsdale police officer was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic near 44th Street and Camelback Road, where the inaugural Phoenix Marathon was underway. Police said northbound traffic had been stopped when a driver tried to maneuver around the closure and hit the officer.

The officer was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. The female driver was detained at the scene. No additional details were released.
