ODESSA, TX (August 20, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a school crossing guard was injured in a startling pedestrian crash on 22nd Street and Santa Road.

The incident happened at about 7:44 a.m. on 22nd Street and Santa Rosa.

According to Odessa police, a school crossing guard was injured after being struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pulling a trailer.

Police said the Silverado was traveling eastbound on 22nd Street when it struck the crossing guard, who was walking northbound on Santa Rosa.

The crossing guard was taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Silverado driver told police that sun glare affected his visibility. No citations were issued.
