BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 9, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a startling pedestrian crash on Costajo Road near Bear Mountain Boulevard injured one person.

The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on Costajo Road, north of Bear Mountain Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a red Freightliner semi-truck struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, responders transported the victim to Kern Medical with non-life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, the driver of the truck remained at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
