CASTLE ROCK, CO (November 19, 2025) – Last November 10, a startling plane crash on Prairie Hawk Drive near Wolsenberger Road led to minor injuries.

The incident involving a single-engine plane happened just before 6:15 p.m. on Prairie Hawk Drive near Wolfsenberger Road, west of Interstate 25.

Reports said one passenger reported minor injuries, while the pilot and the other passenger were unhurt.

The aircraft was on a personal flight to and from Colorado Springs. According to the preliminary report, the pilot noticed a slight drop in engine speed during cruise and applied carburetor heat. About two minutes later, the engine lost all power.

Attempts to restore power failed, so the pilot carried out a forced landing on a roadway. During the landing, the left wing of the Piper PA-28-235 struck a car, causing significant damage to the plane. No one inside the car was injured.
