1 Person Arrested in Startling Police Chase Crash on Jackson Avenue and Belmont Avenue [Fresno, CA]

No Serious Injuries Reported in Fresno Auto Accident on Jackson Avenue and Belmont Avenue

FRESNO, CA (March 1, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a startling police chase crash on Jackson Avenue and Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of one person.

The incident happened just before 4:00 p.m. when a speeding driver declined to pull over for officers.

Officers said the driver of a white Honda Accord was traveling about 120 miles per hour on Highway 180.

At one point, officers lost sight of the vehicle, but a Fresno Police helicopter later located it again. Authorities said the driver continued southbound on Jackson Avenue and ran a stop sign at Belmont Avenue, colliding with a Toyota Sequoia.

The driver of the Sequoia reported pain but otherwise appeared to be unharmed.

The Honda driver became trapped inside his vehicle and was freed by emergency responders. He was not injured and was arrested on suspicion of felony evading and causing the crash.

The investigation was ongoing.
