VISTA, CA (July 8, 2026) – Saturday night, a startling police chase crash on State Route 78 and Melrose Drive led to injuries.

The incident started at around 10:53 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations near North Avenue and Melrose Drive.

According to reports, the suspect vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed, ran multiple red lights, and rear-ended a pickup truck on westbound State Route 78 from Melrose Drive. Then, the force of the crash pushed both vehicles to roll over.

Moreover, responders transported multiple patients to a hospital with unknown injuries.
