KANSAS CITY, MO (April 28, 2026) – Monday morning, a startling police cruiser crash on Bannister Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard injured 3.

The incident involving a vehicle and a KCPD Ford Explorer happened just after 11:15 a.m. on Bannister Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard.

The Kansas City Police Department said a patrol Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound with lights and sirens activated.

According to the crash report, the police vehicle slowed and then entered the intersection at Blue Ridge Boulevard when a black Chevrolet Traverse failed to yield and struck the cruiser on the passenger side.

The impact caused the police vehicle to roll over and slide into several vehicles that were stopped facing westbound on Bannister Road.

Authorities said the officer and two occupants of the Chevrolet were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
