Injuries Reported in Longmont Scooter Accident on 15th Avenue and Gay Street

LONGMONT, CA (March 12, 2026) – Saturday night, a startling scooter crash on 15th Avenue and Gay Street sent 1 person to the hospital.

The crash involving a person riding a scooter and a vehicle happened at around 7:18 p.m. at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Gay Street, according to Robin Ericson, a city spokesperson.

Police said a driver turning right onto 15th Avenue from northbound Gay Street struck a scooter rider who was traveling south on Gay Street against traffic, according to Ericson.

The driver reportedly did not see the scooter while making the turn.

The scooter rider was taken to a hospital. Authorities had not released details about the person’s injuries.

The crash remained under investigation. Police asked anyone who witnessed the incident and had not yet spoken with officers to contact Longmont police at 303-651-8501.
