Injuries Reported in Albuquerque Auto Accident on Zuni Road SE and Virginia Street SE

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (February 24, 2025) – Saturday, a startling single-vehicle crash on Zuni Road SE and Virginia Street SE injured 4.

Reports said that incident happened just before 12:50 p.m. on Zuni Road SE and Virginia Street SE.

Witnesses called 911 to report a vehicle crashing into a business, stating that three children had been injured.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue transported one adult and three children to the University of New Mexico Hospital, with one child in critical condition.

APD’s Motors Unit is investigating the single-vehicle crash. Zuni is currently closed between Wisconsin and Virginia, though this may change as the investigation continues.

Preliminary findings indicate that a Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling east on Zuni Rd SE when the driver lost control. The vehicle skidded across opposing lanes, struck a curb, and crashed into the parking lot of 8601 Zuni Rd SE, colliding with an unoccupied Ford F-150 and Ford Focus.

All four occupants of the Mercury Grand Marquis were taken to a hospital. Three are in stable condition, while one remains critical. Investigators have collected all evidence from the scene for further review.
