Vehicle Falls into Creek in Cave Creek Auto Accident on 22000 Tomki Road

CAVE CREEK, CA (February 25, 2026) – Tuesday afternoon, two people were rescued after a startling traffic crash on Tomki Road.

The incident happened at around 2:25 p.m. in the 22000 block of Tomki Road.

Initial reports described a vehicle that had gone into a creek. Dispatch notified CAL FIRE, and crews were sent to the scene.

Scanner traffic indicated two people were stranded in the bed of a truck sitting in the middle of the creek. Responders arrived just before 3 p.m., confirmed the situation, and began developing a plan to safely rescue them.

The extent of any injuries was not immediately known. Motorists traveling along Tomki Road near Cave Creek were advised to use caution while emergency crews worked in the area.

Then, the incident commander requested a tow truck for the partially submerged vehicle and asked CHP to respond.

A swift water rescue team arrived to help extract the two people from the truck.

The incident commander reported that crews were actively working to rescue the individuals. Officials also determined the creek was too high to attempt vehicle recovery, and the truck would likely need to be removed after water levels receded.

Eventually, the incident was cleared after both individuals were rescued. According to CHP CAD logs, Fish and Game was notified, and authorities determined the vehicle was not leaking fluids into the creek. Crews plan to attempt the removal of the truck once water levels drop.
