BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM (April 1, 2026) – On Sunday, authorities arrested Castillo Labra after a startling traffic crash on Interstate 40 and East Mountains.

The incident happened on Interstate 40 in the East Mountains.

According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, a wrong-way vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle.

Moreover, responders transported the wrong-way driver, identified as Castillo Labra, and the other driver to a hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, officers arrested Labra for great bodily harm by vehicle while driving under the influence.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office continued investigating the crash.
