PHOENIX, AZ (December 1, 2025) – Saturday night, Nathaniel Hauck was cited after a startling vehicle crash on 35th Avenue and Dobson Road.

The incident involving a vehicle and a horse happened in the area of 35th Avenue and Dobson Road.

Deputies arrived to find a severely injured horse on the roadside and an Audi A4 driven by Nathaniel Hauck. Hauck told deputies he had been going about 35 mph and didn’t see the horse until he was roughly 20 feet away. He said he tried to brake but couldn’t avoid the collision. Deputies said he was not hurt, showed no signs of impairment, and declined medical attention.

The horse’s rider, Ireya Thomas, told deputies she was in the roadway because there was no sidewalk or dirt path available.
