1 Dead in Castroville Auto Accident on US Highway 90 East and Toner Parkway

CASTROVILLE, TX (July 6, 2026) – Sunday morning, a person died in a startling vehicle crash on US Highway 90 East and Toner Parkway.

The incident involving a black Chevrolet Camaro and a GMC Yukon happened at about 7:00 a.m in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 90 East at Tondre Parkway.

Police said a woman driving a Chevrolet Camaro rear-ended a GMC Yukon occupied by a family of four.

One passenger in the Yukon was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Camaro driver was also injured and taken to a hospital.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe intoxicants may have been a contributing factor in the crash, although toxicology test results are pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
